COP is the basic parameter which describes the energy efficiency of each air conditioning system, like split air conditioners, VRF and chillers. But when we have a hybrid system, this parameter is partially inaccurate because recovered energy from the passive system won’t be taken into account. Also, as a part of air handling equipment, it is a must for the fans, which extract the energy from the air, to be part of the equation as an energy consumer as well. For these reasons in the far 2011 Damvent was the first company to establish and introduce the parameter COPnet! Which in full scope would evaluate the total energy efficiency of the hybrid AHUs. In the video, we will explain to you how important and beneficial effect has passive stage recovery on heat pump work and why COPnet >10 is not a surprise anymore.
